For each: where they are, what they actually offer, whether they are a CPA firm, and the situation in which they are the better choice. We partner with licensed CPAs for tax filing and attest work. You have two or more providers or locations, you want the finance function to speak the language of your billing data, and you are keeping your existing CPA for the return.

Each firm name links to the page the row was read from. For Sorso the last column describes when we are the fit rather than when someone else is. Prices are deliberately absent; every firm publishes or quotes its own.

The one distinction that matters for a dermatology practice

Dermatology mixes medical revenue billed to payers with cosmetic revenue paid at the front desk, often by the same provider on the same day. A generalist closes that month accurately and tells you nothing about which half is carrying the practice. Ask any firm on this list how they separate medical from cosmetic in the P&L, by provider, and how the practice-management system’s production ties to the ledger. The answer tells you whether you are buying bookkeeping or a finance function.

The second distinction is structural: six of the seven are CPA firms, so tax filing lives under the same roof as the books. Sorso is not, and does not pretend to be. We work alongside your CPA. Decide which structure you want before you compare anything else.

If you are weighing an offer from a private-equity platform, our dermatology valuation guide covers how practices are priced, and the dermatology accounting page describes exactly what we do month to month.

Questions clinic owners ask

How were these firms chosen?

Each one names dermatology on its own website, and each row was read from that page on 17 September 2026. Firms that only list "healthcare" or "medical practices" in general are left out, as are firms found only in directory listings. It is not a ranking.

Most of these are CPA firms. Is Sorso?

No. Sorso is a d/b/a of DAS Capital Advisors, LLC and is not a licensed CPA firm; we partner with licensed CPAs for tax filings and attest work. If you want the tax return and the monthly books under one roof, one of the CPA firms above is the better structure. If you want a finance function built around clinic operations (billing, payers, providers, locations) and are happy to keep a CPA for tax, that is what we do.

Why are there no prices?

Because a competitor's price is a number we cannot keep current, and a stale figure misleads more than it helps. Each firm publishes or quotes its own. Sorso's are on our pricing pages: accounting from $2,000 a month, fractional CFO from $4,000 a month.

What should a dermatology practice actually ask any of these firms?

Three questions separate a healthcare specialist from a generalist with a healthcare page: Will you reconcile the practice-management system's production and collections to the general ledger every month? Will I get profitability by provider and by location, including cosmetic versus medical revenue? And who reviews the numbers with me each month: a CPA, a bookkeeper, or a finance lead?

Thirty minutes on your practice’s numbers

Bring last month’s P&L and your production report. We will show you what a dermatology-specific close would tell you that the current one does not.
